Magic Flight

Cast Farther - Catch More Fish

As fishing line quickly exits a typical round spool, it naturally maintains contact with the spool’s edge for most of the cast. When the line leaves the Magic Flight spool it touches only the high ridge of each “dimple,” reducing friction. With less line friction you’ll enjoy longer more accurate casts.

Magic Flight® casts farther with “dimpled” spool technology, reducing friction for longer casts – and more fish! Functions much like standard spinning reels – only better.

Ever wonder why golf balls have dimples? One reason is they reduce the friction along the surface of the ball to increase driving distance. The new Magic Flight spinning reel features a patented spool design with a dimpled edge, much like the dimples on the surface of a golf ball. This unique edge reduces friction as the line is quickly released during a normal cast. The line only touches the “peak” of each dimple to reduce friction on the outgoing line – thus increasing both distance of the cast and “cover area” fished, thereby improving the chances to catch more fish!

  • Functions like standard spinning reels only less friction
  • German-engineered for function and reliability
  • Award-winning reel design by industry leaders
  • Patented in U.S. and 36 countries worldwide
  • Endorsed by 7X German World Casting Champion
  • Used and endorsed by international pro team

How the Magic Flight Casts Farther

As fishing line quickly exits a typical round spool, it naturally maintains contact with the spool’s edge for most of the cast. When the line leaves the Magic Flight spool it touches only the top of each “dimple riser,” greatly reducing friction. With less line friction you’ll enjoy longer more accurate casts.

Magic Flight Reel – What the Pros Say

magic-flight-thomas-maire.jpg

Thomas Maire, World and European casting champion from Germany, uses and recommends the Magic Flight spinning reel. He has competed world-wide and is a 3-time Gold World Games winner, 7-time World Champion, 9-time European Champion, and more than 40-time German Casting Champion.

Casting competitions bring together sport fishermen to showcase their abilities in distance and accuracy in three types of casting tackle applications: fly casting, fixed spool spin casting, and revolving spool spin casting. Both accuracy and distance make up each type of tackle application, with the distance portion including both single- and double-handed casting.
Fly casting competitions began in the U.S. in the 1860s, then expanded to revolving spool casting in the 1880s, then, after the invention of the fixed spool at the beginning of this century, included fixed spool competition. In the beginning, the sport took place on lakes or rivers, but with the need for accurate targets and measuring, the competitions switched to grassy fields. Close rules and regulations are followed and special tournament weights and flies are used without the use of hooks.

The casting sport was recognized by the Olympic Committee as an Olympic Sport in 1958, and is executed today among the non-Olympic sport events at the World Games. To be considered in Olympic games, 80 nations are required in tournament participation; the casting sport includes 30 participating nations.

Magic Flight® Spool Technology – Patent Info.

The original, the Magic Flight spool technology patent is the world’s first of its kind providing farther casts on spinning reels. With a worldwide PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) pre-dating any similar products’ patent documents by 20 months – as documented by the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office).

The Magic Flight spool technology has received patents throughout Europe (35 countries), North America, Korea, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Its distribution today includes Germany, Belgium, Poland, Italy, France, Norway, South Africa, the Netherlands and now North and South America.

The Magic Flight patented spool face is designed to allow you to cast farther, reduce line stress. Less time dealing with these common spinning reel issues equals more time catching fish!
